Get Your Act in Gear

There are a lot of reasons to plan ahead.  Like epidurals, for instance:  I plan mine the second I find out I’m pregnant, and when the time comes, I walk into the hospital backward so the anesthesiologist can have instant access to my spine.

That’s all good and well when you have nine months of knowing an event is going to occur, but what if you don’t have any prior notice?  What if you’re making cookies, and you realize your sugar bin is empty?  What if you lose power during a storm and the only light you have is the glow-in-the-dark stars on your kid’s bedroom ceiling?  What if you lose your job?  What if you live in earthquake country, or Tornado Alley, or coastal Florida?

Lightning strikes where it wants to.  Dams burst without the slightest thought for those who might be downstream.  Stock markets fail and trust funds give out.  And cookies need sugar, do you hear me?  Cookies need sugar!

So,  I have collected here a series of posts that address everything from your sweet tooth to your green thumb.  I hope you find them helpful.  And if you have ideas of your own, I hope you’ll share them!
